Our afterschool centre on Goedgedacht Farm took the leap in April to start driving vulnerable children from farms surrounding Riebeek Kasteel to Goedgedacht every day.
We are constantly asking ourselves if our programmes are making a difference or enough of a difference which is why we keep track of our children’s academic results. Our Development Manager who leads the POP Programme, Marguerite Holtzhausen, has just completed calculations based on 2018 school results and from the first to the third quarter maths results of the 60 children attending the POP Centre on the farm increased by an average of 25%, Home Language by 38%, Additional Language by 32%. This is truly incredible! Our Centre Manager Elzanne really takes the children doing homework and studying seriously and this has led to great results!
Well done to the Centre Manager Elzanne Bolsen and team. We are so proud of you and our children! May 2019 be a wonderful year for the Centre!
